Overview & Installation Requirements
Hush-Hush SSIS Data Masking components are a set of data flow components designed to integrate seamlessly with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). These components enhance data security and can be used in both development and run-time environments.
Development Environment (Design-Time)
The development environment allows users to create, integrate, and test SSIS packages in an interactive, graphical interface of SSIS Designer. To install and use the components in this environment, you will need
- Windows 10, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, or 2022 (optional)
- .NET Framework 4.6.2 or higher
- Visual Studio 2017, 2019, or 2022 with SQL Server Data Tools for Business Intelligence (BI)
Once a package is designed, deploy it into a production environment for automated scheduled or ad-hock execution, where user interaction is not required.
Run-Time Environment (Execution-Time)
The run-time environment executes SSIS packages that include Hush-Hush components. Deploy SSIS packages with Hush-Hush Data Masking Components either to an SSIS Catalog (SSISDB) on a SQL Server instance or to the file system. Use SQL Server Agent jobs to schedule and manage packages deployed to an SSIS Catalog. For packages deployed to the file system, schedule or execute them manually using the dtexec utility.
To run these components, the system must have
- Windows Server (appropriate for SQL Server requirements)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, or 2022 with SSIS installed
- .NET Framework 4.6.2 or higher
Proper configuration ensures that SSIS packages created in the development environment run efficiently in production without requiring a user interface.
Requesting and Installing a Trial Version
A trial version of Hush-Hush SSIS Data Masking components is available for those who wish to evaluate its functionality before making a purchase. The trial can be requested directly from our product page or through the "Request a Demo/Trial" option on our website. By submitting a simple form, users will receive an email with the download link and installation instructions.
The trial license is valid for one week, after which it will expire, and the software will notify the user. Upon expiration, the components must be uninstalled from SSIS. Please note that the trial version may have limited functionality, serving only to familiarize users with the components, while the full production version includes all features.
Obtaining a Production License
To continue using Hush-Hush SSIS Data Masking components after the trial period, a production license is required. Licenses can be obtained by contacting our sales team. Upon purchase, users will receive a license key along with instructions for activation.
For additional assistance, please refer to our support resources or contact our team directly.
Installation Notes & Additional Information
NOTE: For installation instructions for SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Visual Studio, and SQL Server Data Tools for Business Intelligence (SSDT BI), refer to the official Microsoft documentation.
In Visual Studio 2019 and 2022, SSIS is not included in SSDT by default and must be installed separately as an extension.
To install all supported components, select the "Typical" installation option. If you prefer to install only specific components, choose "Custom" installation during setup.
