This component masks exact numeric values - such as sales figures, counts, or monetary amounts - by randomly adjusting each number within a defined range. It supports data types like INTEGER, DECIMAL and NUMERIC. Unlike simple masking techniques that apply a fixed offset (which can be easy to reverse), this method introduces variation that makes re-identification significantly more difficult. The amount of change for each value is limited to a specified by a user interval, allowing for realistic data that still supports testing or analysis. However, because the changes are randomized, the results of aggregate functions - such as the mean or standard deviation - for the column may shift.
